Warped Tour 2003 Summary
At the beginning of the summer, Vegan Outreach helped Action for Animals (Seattle, WA) with a $1,000 grant and all the Why Vegans they could use so they could table at this summer's Warped Tour concerts. In all, they tabled at 45 cities and concerts. The total attendance was about 500,000 people. They handed out a total of 21,300 Why Vegans!
"A 'cage-free' label on an egg carton can be misleading. It simply means the hens that laid them weren't held in cramped cages - but it says little about their diet, environment and treatment. Labels such as 'organic' or 'vegetarian-fed' don't necessarily mean much. Chickens naturally feed on insects."

"'The heat is still on, but luckily the death rate is going down because they are getting used to it.' Michael Delagneau, of Ducs de Bourgogne farms in Burgundy, France, a major chicken producer, where at least 60,000 birds died within a week because of extreme heat."
"8: The percentage of Americans who, on a given day, eat at McDonald's."
Next date is Birmingham, Alabama, October 4-5.
