    Impact Beyond Numbers

One of the meaningful ways we measure our impact beyond numbers is through the stories/feedback students share, after attending our 1-hour sessions.

“I am a final-year student pursuing my B.Sc Nutrition and Dietetics degree. For a long time, I’ve been wanting to shift to a plant-based diet but just did not know how or where to start. I was also partially unaware of the cruelty behind livestock farming. Today’s webinar gave me the push that I needed to take the step towards the change. I will try a vegan diet and avoid animal products from now on. Very thankful for the opportunity to learn about Veganism and the information I learned today was very much helpful.”

    – Bandari Shravani, Student at Alphores Women’s Degree College, Karimnagar, Telangana

“The food on our plate has a story behind it – This is what the webinar helped me understand. It gave me a new perspective on how food is produced and how animals are treated in the farming systems. I also learned that environmental issues are not caused only by pollution or excessive electricity use, but that food production practices also contribute to global warming and environmental degradation. Overall, the session was eye-opening and encouraged me to think more consciously about my food choices and their impact on the planet.”

    – Krishna Rohitbhai Shah, Student at Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

“I used to eat non-vegetarian food, including fish, eggs, and chicken, until 2014. I stopped after witnessing a chicken being slaughtered. However, I had never thought that dairy products also involved suffering similar to the meat industry. After attending this webinar, I am committed to making every effort to live a 100% vegan lifestyle. Thank you, Sir, and thank you NSS for giving me the opportunity to attend this webinar.”

    – Anshu Gupta, Student at Lajpat Rai College, Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh

    Green Tuesday Initiative Impact

    1. Vedanta Power Ltd and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University – Kakinada joined the Green Tuesday Initiative reducing 5,771 kgs/ 12,723 pounds of animal products.

    2. FirstSource Solutions Expansion: In May, we expanded the Green Tuesday Initiative to three more offices – one in Mumbai and two in Chennai. We set up engagement desks to interact directly with employees, answer their questions, and start meaningful conversations about sustainable food choices and their impact on animals, people, and the planet.

We’re now working with FirstSource Solutions to expand to their Hyderabad, Philippines, and UK offices!

    3. For the World Environment Day, we partnered with Sodexo, India’s largest corporate catering company, to organise an employee awareness session on “The Impact of Food Choices on Earth” at their client’s location in Bengaluru.

To reinforce the message, plant-based options were introduced in the cafeteria, demonstrating that sustainable eating can be both practical and delicious.
