Green Tuesday Initiative
The Green Tuesday Initiative is a campaign to help institutions such as companies, universities, schools, and hostels reduce their environmental footprint by making small changes in the food they serve.
So far, we’ve helped 40 educational institutions and corporate offices in India implement more sustainable food policies and reduce large quantities of animal products from their menus.
We partnered with ZF, a global automotive giant, in their commitment to sustainability! Together with the Green Tuesday Initiative, we’re making their cafeteria in the Hyderabad campus more sustainable by adding more plant-based options.
Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research in Chennai has partnered with the Green Tuesday Initiative, embarking on a journey to reduce their dairy product consumption by 20%. Their vision is rooted in the noble goals of reducing food related greenhouse gas emissions and saving water.
Pondicherry University(PU), one of India’s largest central research institutes, joined the Green Tuesday Initiative to reduce its food-related environmental footprint. Pondicherry University is also one of the few institutes prioritizing the Green Campus Initiative to build a sustainable campus.
Incture Technologies, a leading provider of digital applications and solutions, joined Green Tuesday Initiative. They serve meat-free meals in their cafeterias to fight climate change.

Carl Zeiss, a Germany-based optoelectronics manufacturing company, joined Green Tuesday Initiative. They now serve meat-free meals all weekdays to fight climate change.
REVA University, Bangalore, will serve meat-free meals to their students five days a week to reduce their environmental footprint.
Kaa’s Kitchen now has a full range of vegan options in their meal subscription plans. Kaa’s Kitchen is a cloud kitchen based in Hyderabad that delivers healthy, organic meals every day.
We worked with them to veganise their meal plans to serve more climate-friendly food to their clients.
Sparks Lifestyle and Living is an event management, catering, and meal subscription firm based in Hyderabad. We worked with them to introduce a full range of vegan options in their selection menus, both for catering and meal subscriptions.
Tech Mahindra, a global IT giant, has partnered with Vegan Outreach to implement their Green Tuesday Initiative at their Hitech City, Hyderabad campus. On August 15th, Mr. C P Gurnani, MD and CEO, Tech Mahindra, launched the Green Tuesday booklet and announced the collaboration. By implementing the Green Tuesday Initiative in their cafeterias, Tech Mahindra will cut down meat consumption by 20% to reduce their food-related carbon footprint.

Hetero implemented Green Tuesday Initiative in their recently inaugurated factory. They will be serving meat-free meals to all their employees every day to reduce their environmental footprint. We have been working with Hetero since 2019 to implement sustainable food policies. It’s incredible to see the impact and the raising awareness amongst the employees.

BITS Pilani, Goa, one of India’s most prestigious institutes, became the latest signatory of the Green Tuesday Pledge to address the rising global climate change crisis. Once fully rolled out, they are to slash-down the use of animal products like eggs and meat by 15%.
Hetero will now serve meat-free meals to their employees every day to reduce their environmental footprint! Once fully rolled out to all locations, over 2 million meals will be meat-free every year.
DY Patil University School of Hospitality and Tourism Studies, to serve vegan food on Fridays. This initiative will prepare future chefs in creating vegan menus and also help reduce the environmental footprint at the institutional level.
Vardhaman College of Engineering, one of the largest private institutes in Hyderabad, has reduced the use of meat in their cafeterias and added 69,600 vegan meals to reduce their environmental footprint.⠀
Gautam Buddha University, one of the largest public universities in North India, reduced the use of dairy products in their cafeteria by 66%. The university will now serve 960,000 vegan meals to the students every year.
Lovely Professional University, one of the top private universities in India with the largest residential capacity in the world, reduced the use of dairy products in their cafeteria by 14%. This change eliminated the use of over 100,000 litres of milk in six months.

91springboard, one of the largest co-working spaces in India, will replace all animal products with vegan options every Tuesday at their Turbhe hub.
Uneecops, a leading provider of technology solutions in India, is serving plant-based food to their employees to reduce the environmental footprint.
Hyderabad Trekking Club, a popular trekking and tourism company in India, stopped serving meat and dairy to nearly 8,000 travelers every year in an effort to reduce their environmental footprint.
Anand Engineering College reduced the use of dairy products in their cafeteria by 75%.
Hindustan College reduced the use of dairy products in their cafeteria by 50%.
S S College pledged to serve 100% plant-based meals in their cafeteria once a week and entirely eliminated the use of eggs.
Vijaya International School reduced the use of dairy products in their cafeteria by 50%.
Zostel, Asia’s largest branded hostel chain reduced the use of meat and dairy products in their Agra location by 30% in 2018. Expanding on this success, Zostel partnered with Vegan Outreach to introduce vegan options at 8 of their locations in India and Nepal.
GoStops, a chain of backpacker hostels introduced a new vegan menu at their Agra location.
